Talwar set for QIPCO 2000 Guineas

SHALFLEET will be represented in the first domestic Classic of the season when Talwar lines up in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.
 
The son of Acclamation, owned by Mr and Mrs Vimal Khosla, has been supplemented for the mile Group 1 on the back of his impressive success in the International Stakes at Lingfield last month.
 
Last season, Talwar showed his ability to cope with soft ground when making all in the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown. He encounters a soft surface again on Saturday and will be partnered by former champion jockey Frankie Dettori.
 
Jeremy said: “It is a sporting gesture by the owners to run and the horse is in good order. He is a seasoned and successful performer in stakes company and will not be inconvenienced by the soft underfoot conditions."
