News on Western Aristocrat

Posted by Jackie Jarvis on 17 October 2011

SHALFLEET’S Grade 1 star Western Aristocrat is due back in Newmarket this afternoon after a successful trip to America.

The Mr Greeley colt jetted over the Atlantic Ocean to plunder the Grade 1 Jamaica Handicap at Belmont Park just over a week ago.

The three-year-old won’t be lining up at the Breeders’ Cup in early November but trainer Jeremy Noseda isn’t ruling out another trip State-side in the near future.

He said: “Western Aristocrat arrives back today. The reports I’ve been given suggest that he has come out of his race okay.

“We will move forward with the long-term target remaining the Godolphin Mile at next year’s Dubai Carnival.

“It is possible, though, that we will consider a tilt at another race in America this side of the New Year. It all depends on the horse’s general condition.”
