Western Aristocrat - seasonal bow in Dubai

Posted by Tony Rushmer on 7 February 2012

WESTERN Aristocrat is on course for a shot at the Godolphin Mile in Dubai on Saturday, March 31.

The Mr Greeley colt proved progressive through 2011, winning the Grade 1 Jamaica Handicap and then finishing a somewhat unlucky third in top class competition in the Hollywood Derby.

Now, trainer Jeremy Noseda is preparing the four-year-old colt for the Group 2 on Tapeta at Meydan.

He said: "Western Aristocrat has multiple entries on Dubai World Cup night but at this moment we are getting him ready for a crack at the Godolphin Mile.

"He found his top form when competing abroad towards the end of last year and feel that he is a horse capable of improving again.

"In my opinion, this race stacks up as ideal for him. He will handle the Tapeta well and, rated 113, is entitled to be very competitive in a race such as this."
