Quivery steps up for Group 1 test

NEWMARKET’S Future Champions meeting starts tomorrow and trainer Jeremy Noseda is set to saddle Quivery in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile.

It is a step up in class for the Violence filly, who won her first two races before finishing fourth in a Group 3 at Goodwood.

Jeremy said: “The race has been the plan. She will be suited by the mile, the track and – hopefully – the quick-ish ground. I feel that she’ll run with credit in a very competitive race.”

On the same card, Intrepidly is tasked with bouncing back in the Old Rowley Cup Heritage Handicap.

He returned to action in late September at Kempton after a couple of months off and could only finish seventh of 10.

Jeremy said: “He was disappointing last time but I felt he had excuses, having had a break. Hopefully, he will get the trip and the ground seems to have come to suit him. He is the sort of a horse who could run really well, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.”
