Strong display from Firefright

FIREFRIGHT ran out a convincing winner of a seven-furlong handicap at Doncaster last night.

The Dragon Pulse colt, the 5/4 favourite, tracked the leaders until a quarter of a mile out when jockey William Buick asked for an effort.

He responded well and quickened to hit the front with just over a furlong left to travel.

Through the closing stages the Paul and Susan Roy-owned Firefright asserted and had two and a quarter lengths in hand when hitting the line.

It was a second career success for trainer Jeremy Noseda’s charge and came off an official rating of 85.

Over at Epsom, First Up was second in a mile and a quarter handicap.
