Cenotaph completes hat-trick

CENOTAPH delivered a big-race success for trainer Jeremy Noseda with victory in the £100,000 Chelmsford City Cup Handicap.

The six-year-old completed a brilliant three-timer with a superb turn of foot on the outer.

Jockey Ryan Moore brought him with a slingshot move on the home turn of the seven-furlong contest.

In the colours of Mrs Doreen Tabor, Cenotaph burst from sixth to lead just inside the final furlong and sustained his run to win by a length and a quarter.

It was a fine effort and came off the back of a 12lb rise in the handicap….the 3/1 winner is clearly a progressive horse.

Jeremy said: “I’m delighted with his performance. He has got plenty of talent and is most probably a stakes horse in the making.

“He is improving, has a great attitude and I’m thrilled with the way he is going.”

The win comes 24 hours after Garrus – another progressive Shalfleet inmate – scored at Newcastle.

The Paul and Susan Roy-owned two-year-old landed a novices race by four and a half lengths.

It was a second successive win for the Acclamation colt after he struck at Newmarket four weeks earlier.
