Cenotaph victorious at Chelmsford

CENOTAPH gave Shalfleet a major boost last night when winning on his first start for the yard.

The six-year-old, owned by Mrs Doreen Tabor, couldn’t have done it more easily as he landed a six-furlong handicap by a length.

The War Front gelding, ridden by Shane Kelly, burst out of the pack to challenge late on.

The 10/1 shot hit the front inside the final furlong and surged away without Kelly having to get at all serious on board.

After more than a month without a runner, Cenotaph was Jeremy Noseda’s second horse back in action.

Jeremy said: “The horses are back in good order and hopefully there will be plenty more winners to come through the summer. Last night it was certainly nice to be back having a winner again.”
