Fine form continues thanks to Querelle

TRAINER Jeremy Noseda maintained his hot streak with Querelle landing a seven-furlong fillies’ novice race at Kempton last night.

The daughter of Violence became Shalfleet’s third winner from its last seven runners. The victory maintained the stable’s fine 27 per cent strike-rate for the season.

For the Marc Keller-owned Querelle it was success at the second attempt after she’d finished mid-division on her first start last month at Newbury.

The benefit of that first run and also the switch to the all-weather surface at Kempton resulted in a strong performance in which she made just about every yard for jockey Jamie Spencer.

Querelle fought out a duel with Romola through the closing stages but she proved a willing ally for Spencer as the pair recorded a neck triumph at odds of 7/1.

Jeremy said: “I was delighted with Querelle. She showed improvement from her first run and a very game attitude. It was a good, solid performance from a filly who will keep on improving.”
