Kamikaze Lord battles to victory

IT WAS third time lucky for Kamikaze Lord as he just got up to win a six-furlong novices race at Kempton last night.

The First Samurai colt went one better than his previous start, scoring by a nose in the hands of James Doyle.

The Shalfleet representative was the odds-on favourite but was made to strive hard right to the line to rein in long-time leader Naughty Rascal.

The pair went head-to-head for the last furlong and a half and Kamikaze Lord summoned up one last late effort to secure victory.

Trainer Jeremy Noseda said: "I was delighted for Kamikaze Lord to get his head in front.

"He is a genuine horse who tries very hard and that was the reason why he managed to win this evening.

"We'll most probably put him away now until next year."
