Next Stop Kentucky!

TRAINER Jeremy Noseda is dreaming of the Kentucky Derby after Gronkowski won the Burradon Stakes at Newcastle.

The Lonrho colt made it four wins on the trot to book his spot for Churchill Downs on the first Saturday in May.

Gronkowski, owned by Phoenix Throughbred Limited, won the mile Listed race by a length and a quarter for jockey Jamie Spencer.

The 13/8 favourite was eager throughout the race and Spencer let him stride to the front with a furlong-plus to travel.

The Shalfleet horse was kept honest by Spencer through the final stages, running out a worthy winner.

Jeremy said: “I’m delighted with the Gronk’s victory this afternoon.

“It’s full steam ahead to the Kentucky Derby. Touch wood, I’m looking forward to being at Churchill Downs for the Run for the Roses on Saturday, May 5.”
