Quivery in Donny debut delight

QUIVERY delivered the perfect debut display when triumphing in a seven-furlong fillies novice  stakes at Doncaster this afternoon.

The Jeremy Noseda-trained daughter of Violence relished the fast ground as she was brought by joockey Jamie Spencer for a sustained late challenge.

The 9/4 shot locked horns with Godolphin favourite Arabian Gift through the final furlong.  The pair had the rest of the field well beaten as they slugged it out in their own private battle.  But it was Quivery - owned by Mr Marc Keller - who sustained her challenge best, having three parts of a length in hand as she hit the line.

It was the first Shalfleet two-year-old winner of the season and bodes well for the stable ahead of this week's Royal Ascot runners.
