Smooth success for Alexa Rose

ALEXA ROSE made light work of winning a seven-furlong novices’ race at Kempton this afternoon.

The Distorted Humor filly showed plenty of promise on her racecourse debut earlier this month when third at Windsor on the turf.

And she built on that with a stirring display on her second start, surging to a two-and-a-half length success.

Alexa Rose broke well to lead early on before settling in the slipstream of Pytilia with jockey Ryan Moore content to bide his time.

Once the field turned for home and hit the final quarter of a mile trainer Jeremy Noseda’s charge made a telling move.

She hit the front and stayed on well through the closing stages to justify her favourite’s billing.

Jeremy said: “I was delighted with her performance. She’s clearly improved for her first run and showed that she is a good solid filly with a future.”

Later on the same card Zain Hana ran with credit to finish third in a six-furlong handicap.
