Walk In The Sun scores on debut

WALK In The Sun made the ideal start to his career with victory in a novice race at Kempton on Friday night.

The Street Sense colt emerged narrowly triumphant from a thrilling head to head with the Godolphin contender First Contact.

The two horses fought out their own private duel before trainer Jeremy Noseda’s charge won by a short head.

There was a further eight lengths back to the third-placed runner.

Walk In The Sun, owned by Phoenix Throughbred Ltd, came into his debut race surrounded by plenty of attention.

The imposing colt topped the Arqana Breeze-Up sale last May, realising 1.4 million Euros through the ring.

Ridden by jockey Ryan Moore on his first run, he showed plenty of courage and talent in wearing down First Contact.

The Shalfleet horse just got on top in the closing strides to justify 5/4 favouritism.
